  23. NGService allows you to select the NewsGrazer portion of a posting
  24. and view it as you would in NewsGrazer!

  40. NGService will launch, and bring up a window that will show you the
  41. contents.

  45. NGService actually arose from the number of complaints on the Net
  46. about NewsGrazer posts, and those who don't want to use NewsGrazer,
  47. or want to be able to view NewsGrazer postings at home, where they
  48. don't have enough CNews set up to run NewsGrazer.

  50. It also served the purpose of introducing me to NeXT services, and
  51. cells in Text Objects.

  53. Also since there is no NewsGrazer for NEXTSTEP Intel, and there
  54. will not be one made available from NeXT, this will make it possible
  55. for the Intel users to access the NewsGrazer files easily.

  60. NGService was implemented under 2.x, and the only change that was
  61. needed to get it running under 3.0 was to have Project Builder
  62. convert the IB.proj file to the new PB.project format, and then
  63. change one line in the Makefile.preamble...

  65. However when I upgraded to 3.1, and then went to quickly recompile
  66. a fat version, there were a few things that had to be changed.  I
  67. also spent an hour and cleaned up some things.
